The mission of HandyNurse, LLC has always been clear: to provide individualized, holistic care to Arizona's seniors with dignity, respect, and a genuine heart of servitude. We believe in "assisting with almost anything," because we understand that true independence for our elders requires more than just task-specific help – it demands a comprehensive approach that addresses every gap, acting as their "hands, feet, eyes, and ears." Today, we are incredibly excited and proud to announce a significant new step in fulfilling that mission: the formation of HandyNurse® Helpers, our newly established 501(c)(3) non-profit organization!

Why HandyNurse® Helpers?

For years, HandyNurse® has been dedicated to going above and beyond. We've witnessed firsthand the profound challenges many seniors face – not just with personal care, but with maintaining their homes, managing everyday tasks, and finding integrated support that truly meets their diverse needs. We've often provided discounted or even free services when we saw a dire need, but this approach has its limitations in reaching everyone who desperately requires help.

The creation of HandyNurse® Helpers marks a new chapter, allowing us to expand our reach and impact like never before. This non-profit arm will focus on securing grants and donations, specifically to fund free or deeply discounted personal care and home maintenance services for low-income and vulnerable seniors across Arizona. By working in partnership with HandyNurse, LLC through a careful, transparent arrangement, HandyNurse® Helpers ensures that our unique brand of holistic, compassionate care can reach those who need it most, without financially burdening our for-profit operations. It's about sustainable impact, driven by a shared heart for service.

Our First Project: Supporting a Tucson Family in Dire Need

Even as HandyNurse® Helpers navigates its initial setup phases, the urgent need in our community is already evident. We recently encountered a heartbreaking situation with a Tucson family that perfectly illustrates why HandyNurse® Helpers is so vital. This family faces immense challenges: a father with heart failure, a mother grappling with cognitive decline and limited mobility, and a daughter bravely battling a lower limb amputation and severe kidney disease.

Upon visiting their home, our team was met with overwhelming conditions. The living space was severely compromised by extensive clutter, accumulated animal waste, and unsanitary conditions that rendered basic amenities unusable. It was a stark reminder that traditional, fragmented care models simply cannot address such multi-faceted needs.

Our immediate thought, echoed by my wife and co-founder, a dedicated social worker and caregiver, was "who else would be able to help if not us?" So, we dove in. HandyNurse, LLC has already committed over $2,500 in free and discounted services to begin the monumental task of cleaning and stabilizing their home. However, the scope of this project is immense, requiring new flooring, roof repair, and comprehensive clean-out efforts that extend far beyond what we can do alone.

Our First Mission: Supporting a Tucson Family in Dire Need

To gather much-needed immediate support for this specific family, we have launched a GoFundMe campaign here, https://gofund.me/0fee2cbe. While donations to this GoFundMe are not yet tax-deductible as HandyNurse® Helpers awaits its official 501(c)(3) determination, every dollar will directly contribute to transforming this family's living conditions and restoring their dignity and safety.
